There is a stage of transformation we rarely talk about.
It’s the middle.
You’ve changed enough that returning to your old patterns doesn’t feel right.
But the person you’re becoming doesn’t feel entirely familiar yet either.
You’re somewhere in between.
This space can feel uncertain because humans naturally seek familiarity. Even patterns that don’t serve us can feel strangely comfortable simply because we know what to expect from them.
Transformation removes some of that certainty.
You may begin questioning decisions that once felt automatic.
What do I actually want?
What matters to me now?
What does success look like in this season?
Where do I want my energy to go?
These questions can feel destabilizing.
But they can also be signs of something important:
You are becoming conscious of how you want to live.
There is a difference between constructing a life from habit and creating one from intention.
Intentional living requires periods of reevaluation.
Sometimes we need to dismantle assumptions before we can discover what actually belongs to us.
This is why periods of transition often feel slower than expected.
Internally, significant work is happening.
Values are shifting.
Boundaries are forming.
Priorities are rearranging.
Your nervous system is learning that unfamiliar does not necessarily mean unsafe.
You don’t need to rush this process.
We often want transformation to look like a clean before-and-after photograph.
Life rarely works that way.
There is usually an in-between.
A season where you’re experimenting.
Learning.
Reconsidering.
Trying something and realizing it isn’t quite right.
Changing direction.
That isn’t confusion.
That’s discernment.
The woman you’re becoming isn’t waiting somewhere in the future for you to finally arrive.
She’s being shaped through these decisions.
Every boundary.
Every courageous conversation.
Every moment you choose differently than you once would have.
Transformation is already happening.
The middle isn’t something you need to escape.
It’s part of becoming.
